Studio Shakti

Hey there, My name is Colleen

Boho Fashionista

Designer

Yoga Teacher

Jetsetter

I found my love for branding and web design when I started my first brand and blog Mind Body Colleen. I loved using digital tools to express my creativity to build my online presence. Time would fly by when I was designing and it always brought me so much effortless joy.

Actually, let me back track.  That was my first time designing in the digital space professionally —  but I can still remember when I was 12 and friends would call my home phone to ask for help designing their Xanga or MySpace. Yes, I had stylish online platforms back then too.

My first brand felt like I had styled the ultimate staple outfit and I was always ecstatic to go show it off to the world. It felt like a perfect expression of me.  I think we can all agree, it feels pretty damn good to feel like your true self.

The brand did more for me than just offer some pretty visuals. It brought me clarity and confidence in so many other aspects of my life, as well. Once I committed to my voice, mission, messaging, and style I was able to get more intentional with who I am and what I give my energy to.

I had a lot of success from creating a strong and consistent brand. From growing my audience, to landing brand collaborations, to getting hired for modeling gigs, to getting my work published in magazines. All of these were possible because I had a clear, consistent, trustable, and visually appealing personal brand.

Branding was such a gift in my life and that’s why I started Studio Shakti.  So I can give the same gift to you.

In 2018 I went on a pilgrimage to India. In Rishikesh, I completed my 300hour yoga teacher training at Ananda Prakash Ashram. During this experience I received my spiritual name, Shakti Devi, from my teacher Yogirishi Vishvketu. Shakti Devi refers to Hindu goddess of creativity, power, femininity, and change. The development of Studio Shakti has allowed me to step into my creative self and share my gifts with the world.

Practice with me this week 🧚🐍⁣
⁣
Available this week only – I am releasing one full-length Kundalini Yoga Class from my Kundalini Yoga Course. ⁣
⁣
This is my absolute favorite kriya and the set I have practiced the most. (well over 100x) This is a great beginners level class to work up the chakra system to open the entire body up. I promise you’ll feel a little buzz buzz after this one. ⚡ ⁣
⁣
I teach this one slow and steady so if you are new you will be able to catch on and if you’re an intermediate I give recommendations on how to add another layer on and make this set even more potent.

Opening up my energy system did NOT come easy for me. ⁣
⁣
Actually, in every story, I have heard it has happened much more easily, spontaneously, or quickly for others than it did for me. ⁣
⁣
My journey with kundalini required more devotion than I ever put toward any personal development. ⁣
⁣
There lot of trauma in my body that was like a coat of iron I couldn’t bust through. ⁣
⁣
I had many energy work sessions, lots of kundalini yoga, and weekly trauma release breathwork circles until I cleared the path to activate and hold the kundalini in my body. ⁣
⁣
My whole inspiration for this path actually happened after I had a session of kundalini bodywork 2.5 years ago. ⁣
⁣
I remember when the session finished the therapist asked me, “what insights did you get during your session.”⁣
⁣
My answer was, “I have to stop teaching yoga.” ⁣
⁣
Then I stopped teaching all the things I was doing before and then my kundalini journey took off. ⁣
⁣
And now we're in a full circle moment where I learning, growing, and beginning to offer that style of energy work that started it all. ⁣
⁣
So I can enrich others' life with this work too. 🦋🌟

For almost all my years practicing and teaching yoga I had no relationship to my crown chakra. ⁣
⁣
It's one I always kind of forgot about or never seemed so important to me because well... it's not in my physical body and I didn't have any sensitivity there. ⁣
⁣
In the last year of working with energy that's completely CHANGED. ⁣
⁣
Now my crown chakra is the most sensitive, delicate, and powerful one. ⁣
⁣
I wouldn't say the feeling I have for it is fear but it's somewhere in the ballpark of like apprehension and reverence. ⁣
⁣
When I put my awareness there I get a bit of a blast of consciousness and information that comes in through my body. ⁣
⁣
Often it causes my posture to abruptly change, my body to shake or tremble, and sometimes my eyes even to close and roll up. ⁣
⁣
This connection allows me to experience with divinity with a depth I previously didn't know possible.

My life in Switzerland has been such a contrast from everything I was used to before. ⁣
⁣
I had a call with one of my therapists this week and she said. “It’s like you’re in bootcamp… getting your triple masters.” ⁣
⁣
Hehehe it does feel like this sometimes. And its also been one of the most beautiful experiences of change and growth. 🦋

My birthday is coming soon and for the next 3 days, I will be offering my Kundalini Yoga Course at 50% off. ⁣
⁣
I created this course to make Kundalini Yoga more accessible and understandable. This is a thorough and organized course with the need to know to get started practicing safely and confidently. ⁣
⁣
As many of you know my yoga career started when I was 20 studying other lineages of yoga. But then I got a bit bored, I felt like there was something I was missing and wanted to get more out of my practices. That’s when I started to become interested in energy and finding ways to feel, express, and open up my body more. And I knew Kundalini Yoga was a way I could explore that. ⁣
⁣
I quickly became obsessed with it and became a Kundalini Yoga teacher and spent a lot of time working with my body and building a relationship with this energy. ⁣
⁣
It was not always clear or easy. Actually most times it was neither of those. I had to trial and error with it a lot in my first years trying to figure out how to work with energy, expand it, direct it, express it, etc. ⁣
⁣
I was inspired to create this course because I wanted to organize, simplify, and share all of the teachings that would have made my life so much easier if someone gave to me in the beginning. ⁣
